This past Friday I had a situation. I called my eye glass place, Clarkson Eye Care, to place an order for contacts. I was told previously, that when I ran out of the sample contacts I had, I could order a 3 month supply if I like them. I ended up liking the contacts I had, and called to check on my glasses which I ordered and get more contacts.
At first when I called, I talked to a girl who said she was going to call me back, but never did. I called back myself and spoke to a guy. He told me it takes 2 to 3 weeks for an order of glasses to come in. It had been exactly 2 weeks to that date, and we were still waiting.
The second issue was I had a $40 coupon off supplies. I was told I could not use it on the contacts, because they were already at a discounted price. This made me mad, because I could have used it on the glasses, but I did not because I was told I could use them on the contacts.
This was my error, because when I read the fine print on the coupon, it said this offer could not be combined with any other discount offer. I am not going to lie, I was pissed! I could not get a credit on my glasses because, I received $100 off my frames that was sent to my insurance already. The guy told me if they adjusted the price they sent to the insurance, then it would be insurance fraud.
I still did not understand why I could not receive $40 of store credit because I was misinformed, but looking at the demeanor of the employees I was fighting a losing battle. Over all, If I am presented with a discount, I am going to make sure each and every discount is applied before I pay any money. This was my fault, but it will not happen again.
